I’ve started changing the phrase “the left” into “people with a conscience.” Similarly, the phrase “politically correct” translates to “respectful” or “compassionate” as appropriate. It doesn’t change the meaning of what is said (honestly, not at all), but it makes me feel a lot better about the oblivious, merciless people who are saying. Try it!
